Walk Like MADD Brings THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Community Together to

Remember Loved Ones, Inspire Change and Commit to End Drunk Driving

According to the latest statistics, 914 people died from drunk driving crashes in the state of California which represents 29% of all traffic fatalities in 2015.

WHAT:           The Southern California Region of Mothers Against Drunk Driving®  (MADD) will host its signature non-competitive 5K fundraising events Walk Like MADD® in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The Los Angeles Walk Like MADD® takes place in Long Beach on Saturday, October 1st and starts at 8:30 a.m. at Granada Beach.  The Huntington Beach Walk Like MADD® takes place in the City of Huntington Beach on Saturday, October 15th and begins at 8:30 a.m. at Huntington Beach. The walks will raise funds and rally support for MADD’s Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving®.

The funds raised through all Walk Like MADD events enable us to be strong partners in the community and provide free services and support to victims of Drunk and Drugged Driving crashes.  We look to everyone including individuals, corporate partners, law enforcement, elected officials, health care facilities, and civic leaders in the communities we serve, to align with us and take a stand to stop the senseless tragedies associated with Drunk and Drugged Driving.  Many people do not realize that MADD offers advocacy services free of charge to victims and survivors.

Walk like MADD has three main components:

  • Remember: We walk for those who no longer can and alongside those who are learning to walk again.
  • Inspire: We walk empowered even when we feel powerless, as survivors when we have been victimized, and with purpose when we have lost our way.
  • Commit: We walk with supporters who share our vision of no more drunk driving victims.
