Vesper Public Relations. June 2017. Mexican punk rock band De Nalgas and renowned political Mexican cartoonist Rapé (creator of Milenio, El Chamuco y los Hijos del Averno) team up with graphic art team Helguera and Hernández to create conscience and find a solution to current social turmoil created by politicians.
This historic union comes after De Nalgas’ video “Con Dinero Baila El Perro” [Money makes the dog wiggle] was noticed by Rapéscolleagues Helguera and Hernández, together known as Los Moneros after theirfamous political caricature series titled “MonoSapiens.”
Los Moneros did not hesitate to join De Nalgas and Rapé and together they re-released the “Con Dinero Baila el Perro”video withgraphics to animate the lyrics that express this difficult national moment.
The band sees how reality is surpassing fiction in the second most violent country of the world. The danger has gotten so bad that Mexico is viewed as the most dangerous country not at war for journalist to work in. With this insanity in mind De Nalgas raise their voice through words and music to bring attention to this outrage.
“Con Dinero Baila El Perro” provides the opportunity for the band to lead a collective of artists in confronting censorship that brings suffering for anyone wishing to voice their opinion.
De Nalgas, Rapé, Helguera and Hernández dare censorship with this material to give voice to what De Nalgas and the people are saying: “we are fed up and were unstoppable.”
