“I could ramble on about what a breathtaking voice Moreno has and how she sounds every bit as stunning live as she does on her recordings. Yet her music, filled with quirks and raw emotion, is immense because she’s so very human.” –NPR

Vesper Public Relations. Los Angeles, CA.  Gaby Moreno returns to KPFK 90.7 FM Studio A on Travel Tips For Aztlan for a second time for what promises to be an incredible stellar performance, including a LIVE premiere of her newly released Spanish language album “Postales”.

“Postales” is her full length Spanish-language production released under Latin super star Ricardo Arjona’s music label. The singer was captivated by Moreno’s talent and took her under his wing, inviting her along to perform on his tour and even writing a magnificent song “Fuiste Tu” (included in Arjona’s latest album), for which they recorded a video together in both of the artists’ native Guatemala.

Check out video of Ricardo Arjona talk about how he was introduced to Gaby Moreno.

“Guatemalan singer Gaby Moreno has done in her beautiful new album Postales. Whether she’s sounding like a ranchera singer or a New Orleans blues siren, whether she’s talking about immigrating or the Guatemalan boogeyman, reading Borges under the shade of a tree or simply falling in love, she’s incredibly honest. She refuses to cater to any marketable stereotype and sings about nothing other than what she wants to. It pays off. (NPR)

Gaby Moreno was born and raised in Guatemala City, Guatemala. She became interested in music at an early age and learned to play guitar when she was 13 years old. After high school, she moved to Los Angeles to study at the Musician’s Institute.

In 2007, she won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest Song of The Year award, becoming the first ever Latin category singer to win the competition. In 2010, she was nominated for an Emmy Award for composing the theme song for the NBC hit show “Parks and Recreation”.
