THE LARGEST ABOVE GROUND MURAL IN THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY
The mural tells the tale of Pacoima, a neighborhood located in the heart of the Northeast San Fernando Valley that is surrounded by both natural and manmade iconic landmarks. The mural pays tribute to Pacoima’s rich Native American heritage.
The project was funded by Los Angeles City Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez and is curated by renowned muralist Levi Ponce & a team of muralists, & graffiti artists.

Who: Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez, muralist Levi Ponce and his team of street artist & a special ceremonial blessing by the Tataviam Village Tribe.
What: “Rushing Waters” the largest above ground mural in the San Fernando Valley. Councilwoman Rodriguez secured over half a million dollars for mural projects in the Seventh Council District and over $100,000 will be allocated to complete “Rushing Waters.” The mural is located in the heart of Pacoima, which is the gateway to San Fernando, Sylmar, and Lake View Terrace. The mural itself will depict the landscape of these areas and depict a 25-foot-tall native woman at its center. Other depictions include Hansen Dam, Whiteman Airport, local freeways, Sylmar Aqueduct, San Gabriel Mountains, LA River, and more.

When: Monday, November 25 | 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM (Program & blessing ceremony starts at 10:30 am sharp)
Where: Intersection of San Fernando & Paxton Street in Pacoima. Parking logistics and the event map will be shared shortly.
