Adriel Favela continues breaking expectations with the release of his first all-mariachi EP SÓLO MUERE SI SE OLVIDA. The EP represents a complete 180-degree change from his previous recordings and is the fruit of a strong team of highly recognized collaborators: Kiko Cibrian (mixing and vocal director), Marco Ramírez (mastering), Daniel Valenzuela (lead producer at Esperanto debuting as “Tipo Country Productions”) and musicians David Valenzuela, Jared Vacapiz and Ervey Vargas.

The EP was recorded at Sonic Ranch studios, which is located in the border city Tornillo, Texas and happens to be the largest residential recording studio in the world. While hunkered down at Sonic Ranch, Adriel and his team recorded all the songs for SÓLO MUERE SI SE OLVIDA and several more that will be included on the deluxe version.

SÓLO MUERE SI SE OLVIDA features the following songs: “Amor real”, “Niña bonita”, “Buscando el olvido”, “Mi condena” (a collaboration with the Spanish artists Ismael de la Rosa and Yerai Cortés”, lead single “En este amor” and the title track “Sólo muere si se olvida”, which features the Mexican singer Kurt.

“This EP is a snapshot of little Adriel when I used to watch the 3 television channels that we had in Sonora, absorbing the mariachi music of artists like Pedro Infante, Vicente Fernández, and Jorge Negrete. My roots ARE mariachi. With this storied genre, maturity is essential because it also serves as a cultural foundation for the Mexican people. Endless hours of preparation are required. Carrying on the tradition is not easy, and I wanted to do it with absolute respect and with a level of quality that I now feel proud to share with everyone,” comments Adriel.

The EP’s songs were written by Adriel Favela as well as Gussy Lau, Tamayo Aguilera, César Iván Gámez, César Robles, Alex Hernández, Ervey Vargas, Abraham Cota, Ismael de la Rosa, Kurt, and Tito Uría. Favela’s credits on SÓLO MUERE SI SE OLVIDA also include lead singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist.

The release of SÓLO MUERE SI SE OLVIDA follows the single “Buscando el olvido”, which centers around the theme of unrequited love. The song features country music elements that provide a heartfelt, positive touch to help bring an end to the cycle of heartbreak.
