Universal City, CA – Tuesday July 14, 2009 – Telemundo KVEA-52, a leading producer of innovative and high-quality content for Hispanics worldwide, mun2, the bilingual network for young Latinos, and CityWalk at Universal Studios Hollywood, The Entertainment Capital of Los Angeles, proudly returns with their sizzling 3rd annual free summer concert series “Descarga” En CityWalk con Telemundo y mun2 (Jam On CityWalk with Telemundo and mun2).”

 

Showcasing performances from top notch international and national talent, “Descarga” welcomes direct from Spain superstar, Gold & Platinum recording artist Shaila Dúrcal who will be accompanied by renowned Mariachi Imperial. Also performing that evening is Regional Mexican ‘Banda’ crooner Beto Cortez. It promises to be a truly special evening evidencing “Descarga”s status as one of the leading outdoor free music events series in Southern California.

 

Direct from Madrid, Spain Shaila Dúrcal will be performing songs from her new album titled “Corazón Ranchero”, (Ranchero Heart) produced by Manuel Cazares at the Joel Solís studio in México City.  This performance will showcase Shaila’s gifted vocal talent, unique style ranging from Pop, traditional Mexican Mariachi, and her profound love for México’s music and people, which she inherited from her mother, the extraordinary music legend the late Rocío Durcal.(Visit Shaila Durcal) http://www.myspace.com/shailadurcal

 

A career that spans well over 25 years Mariachi Imperial has earned critical acclaim and various awards. Led by Jose Longoria, the group has recorded two albums entitled “Son de Ambiente”, and “Más Allá de Mi México”.

 

Beto Cortez is an emerging Regional Mexican ‘Banda’ crooner whose music promises to sweep you off your feet.

 

Now in its 3rd consecutive year “Descarga” has solidified its status as one of the leading outdoor free music events in Southern California, drawing over 70,000 fans by showcasing international, national, and emerging talent as well as  DJs performances on an outdoor stage in CityWalk.  Since its inception in 2007, “Descarga” continues to build on its overwhelming success delivering on its mission to provide Latino artists and audiences with the best in quality entertainment with a phenomenal promotional platform, becoming ‘the must play concert series’ for Latino artists touring in Southern California.
