Shaila Dúrcal thrilled the audience with an electrifying show filled with intense emotions, artistry & beauty
Universal City, CA – Tuesday July 21, 2009 –Direct from Spain, Shaila Dúrcal thrilled the audience away with an electrifying show this weekend at Telemundo & mun2’, 3rd annual free summer concert series “Descarga”. Thousands of fans waited anxiously as she took the stage yesterday. The concert, which lasted about an hour, was filled with intense emotions, artistry and beauty.
Accompanied by the renowned Mariachi Imperial, Shaila Dúrcal began her repertoire with many classic greats such as: “Llegaste Tú”, “Tu Cárcel”, “Amor Eterno” amongst others with which she stirred heartfelt emotions. At this show, Shaila introduced Southern California’s Latin audience to her third production, the album titled “Corazón Ranchero” (“Ranchero Heart”), in which her voice shines and takes us on a journey back through the history of traditional Mexican music and those songs that where made classics by her legendary mother the late Rocío Dúrcal.
The great passion and intense work that Shaila Dúrcal has dedicated to her career have undoubtedly positioned her among Latin American audiences’ favorite singers.
After her performance Shaila Dúrcal spent time with her audience at a very special CD autograph signing where she greeted each and every one of them for almost an hour.
Beto Cortez, who made everyone dance to ‘banda’ rhythms, shared the stage with Shaila Dúrcal on this evening.
Now in its 3rd consecutive year “Descarga” has solidified its status as one of the leading outdoor free music events in Southern California, drawing over 70,000 fans by showcasing international, national, and emerging talent as well as DJs performances on an outdoor stage in CityWalk. Since its inception in 2007, “Descarga” continues to build on its overwhelming success delivering on its mission to provide Latino artists and audiences with the best in quality entertainment with a phenomenal promotional platform, becoming ‘the must play concert series’ for Latino artists touring in Southern California.
