PEPE AGUILAR wins the hearts of more than 40,000 audience members!
Breaks attendance records in each one of his concerts in Hidalgo, Houston and Chicago
Vesper Public Relations, Los Angeles, Monday, August 10th, 2009. – Latin music superstar Pepe Aguilar won the hearts of more than 40,000 concert-goers, breaking attendance records in each one of his concerts in Hidalgo and Houston, Texas and Chicago, Illinois.
Aguilar’s summer tour is garnering momentum: it’s a box office success – sold out each time – a performance of impeccable caliber, with a repertoire of musical hits and classics as well as family anecdotes that have become a part of the music star’s history and his established audience.
The cities in which he performed this weekend were: the Dodge Arena (6,800 seats) in Hidalgo, TX on August 6th; the Toyota Center (18,300 seats), in Houston, TX on August 8th and the All State Arena (15,000 seats) in Chicago, where he topped his own previous attendance record.
Just hours before the start of his concert in the Dodge Arena, Pepe Aguilar received a special visit: Alberto Kreimerman, president of the Mexican organization ‘Hermes Musica, Porque Armamos La Musica’, stopped by to wish him well during the tour and update him on some important foundation milestones. Kreimerman also gave Aguilar some birthday gifts (his birthday was the following day, August 7th), among which a necklace made by the beneficiaries of the music foundation and an accordion were the highlights. In addition to this special occurrence, ‘El Zacatecano’, Aguilar’s own mariachis, serenaded with ‘Las Mañanitas’, as is customary for Latin American birthdays.
During the concert, Aguilar received a standing ovation the moment he stepped onto the stage, courtesy of thousands of attendees filled with euphoria and entirely devoted to the great singer. In reciprocity, Aguilar gave his all through each grand performance, which included the songs “Me Vas a Extrañar”, “Perdoname” and “Me Estoy Acostumbrando A Ti”; just to name a few from his world-renowned repertoire.
This was followed the Toyota Center concert in Houston, where his audience fell to its knees as they sang Aguilar’s greatest hits in unison, generating many special moments. The Latin music star kicked off the concert with the song “100% Mexicano”, one of his most popular tunes with which he received the first round of applause that then turned into a shower of compliments. He then pleased his fans with more hits, like “Por Una Mujer Bonita” and “Cuidado” as well as with a potpourri of titles like “Me Estoy Acostumbrando A Ti”, “Terco Corazon” and “Llamarada”, demonstrating his unmatched quality of performance and musical prowess.
In the middle of the performance, Pepe Aguilar received another wonderful surprise as his children Aneliz, Leonardo and Angela appeared onstage to sing “Las Mañanitas” to their father for his birthday, making this an unforgettable night not just for the audience but also for the artist.
After winning the crowd over and sharing with it some memorable moments in Southwest Texas, Aguilar headed Northwest to Chicago, Illinois for his August 8th performance at the All State Arena.
In front of an audience of 15,000 people, he broke attendance records for the second time in this venue, beating his previous concert last year when he performed with Joan Sebastian. Aguilar was incredibly happy and truly touched by the overwhelming response as his audience sang along to each one of his songs, like “Directo Al Corazon” and “Mi Credo”, just to name a few, songs with which the artist made his fans come alive during an unforgettable night of romance and excitement.
Success, the word ‘sold out’ and the memorable experiences of the summer will invariably accompany Pepe Aguilar along his US tour. He still has a long road to travel, one in which thousands of fans are waiting anxiously in various parts of the country, ready to welcome their idol with open arms and to live the Latin music star’s concert experience.
Pepe Aguilar’s tour encompasses the most important US cities, such as Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Las Vegas, among many others. Of the 28 concerts that he will offer during this summer tour, 17 of them will be even more special due to his sharing the stage with Latin music superstar Marco Antonio Solis. These feature among the most highly anticipated concerts and tickets are selling fast, and it is estimated that this will be the best selling Latin tour of the summer of 2009 in the USA.
