Pepe Aguilar Nominated for a Latin GRAMMY© 2009 in the ‘Best Banda Album’ category for the CD “100% Mexicano”

Friday, September 18, 2009.- Amid his tour in Mexico, where he staged a grand performance in the Zocalo of Mexico City in celebration of Independence Day, and just before taking the stage in his birth city, Zacatecas, Latin music superstar Pepe Aguilar has once agian been nominated for a Latin GRAMMY© 2009 in the “Best Ranchero Album” category for his album “100% Mexicano”.
The ceremony of the 10th edition of the Latin GRAMMY© will take place in Las Vegas this year, in the Mandalay Bay Events Center on November 3rd. Spanish language Tv station Univision will air the event.
Pepe Aguilar has various GRAMMY© nominations under his belt, out which he has taken five Latin GRAMMYS© and three GRAMMYS© home, an achievement that validates a solid musical career that is not only recognized by the public but also by the music industry. For Pepe, another nomination is a sign that his work is still to the public’s liking and that his choices have kept him in the path of success. About the very meaningful nomination, he had this to say: “it is a great honor, because all of us that dedicated our lives to music know the importance of these awards on an international level”.
The wonderful news reached the star after his participation in the celebration of Mexico’s 199th independece anniversary, for which he performed on September 15th in Mexico, heart and soul through each song, as the President’s special guest. Afterward, Pepe traveled to his birth city of Zacatecas, where he would participate in the event El Palenque de la Feria Nacional de Zacatecas as “Zacatecas’ Cultural Ambassador”, a title given to him by State Representative Amalia García Medina in December of 2008.
Pepe Aguilar will conclude his magestic tour with a performance at the Monterrey Arena on September 19th, where his fans await anxiously.
Following his Mexico tour, Pepe Aguilar will continue his triumphant US tour, which he started in the summer and was so successful that it was extended until the end of the year. The next concerts will take place in Fresno, Stockton and San Diego.
